From the Netherlands (depending on the place of departure) through Belgium, along the E19 Antwerp, Ghent and Kortrijk. When reaching Lille, take the A1 direction Paris. Once arrived, follow the signs Bordeaux/Nantes (pay good attention) and via the A10 and A71 along Orleans towards Vierzon. There you need to take the A20 direction Limoges.
Take approximately 40 km past Limoges the exit 44. (please take a print of the map). You are also able to take exit 45 through Vigeois to Pompadour. This road will guide you straight through Troche. ( the advantage of this exit is that you can do some shopping in Vigeois). The trip by car will take approximately 9 to 10 hours.
There are daily trains which go from the Netherlands to the South of France. In roughly 11 hours you will be at your destination. With the Thalys (transfer in Paris, please note that there are no connecting stations) you can easily go to Uzerche or Brive La Gaillarde. From there you have the possibility to rent a car and arrive in no time in Troche. From Brive la Gaillarde you can take a small cosy train which goes 4 times a time to Pompadour, which means you can get to only 7 km from the old school by taking a town taxi.
Have a look on www.cityjet.com for direct flights from Brive to Schiphol. Transavia has some cheap tickets available to Bordeaux and Bergerac. From there you can take the train (to Uzerche or Brive la Gaillarde) or even rent a car. From Rotterdam (via London) to Limoges is also a possibility, and is also a bit closer.
